Boris Stomakhin, a publicist (listed as a terrorist and extremist in the Russian Federation), who was previously convicted of calling for terrorism, was found guilty in absentia and sentenced to 10 years in a high-security penal colony. This was announced on March 27 by the press service of the Moscow courts of general jurisdiction.
It is clarified that he was found guilty of spreading fakes about the Russian Armed Forces (RF Armed Forces).
"By the verdict of the Butyrsky District Court of Moscow, Boris Vladimirovich Stomakhin, who had previously been convicted twice (the conviction was not removed or expunged in accordance with the established procedure), was found guilty of committing crimes <...>, and the sentence was finally imposed in the form of imprisonment for a period of 10 years, with serving his sentence in a high—security penal colony," - it is indicated in the Telegram channel of the press service.
The term of punishment is calculated from the moment of his actual detention.
In November 2024, Stomakhin was arrested in absentia and put on the international wanted list for spreading deliberately false information about the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.
