Chairman of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko said on March 27 that the United Nations and other international organizations should take an objective and honest position on crimes against journalists from Russia.

"We need to appeal to the UN and all relevant international structures with condemnation, and finally, they should take an objective, honest position and express their opinion. It's just an intolerable situation," Matvienko said.

The Chairman also stressed that the "agonizing Kiev regime" resorts to terrorist acts and persecutes Russian journalists.

According to her, the responsibility for such actions lies not only with the Ukrainian authorities, but also with those who supply Kiev with weapons and intelligence.

Earlier in the day, the head of the Federation Council's Information policy commission, Alexei Pushkov, appealed to international organizations to condemn the killings of Russian journalists in the war zone. According to him, all international organizations should actively protect the rights and lives of journalists.
