Two employees became victims of a fire at the Kervansaray Hotel in the Uludag ski resort in Turkey, TRT Haber TV channel reported on Thursday, March 27.

It is noted that the fire started at night for an unknown reason. At the same time, the hotel was closed to guests, as back in January, the authorities found a number of violations in it and refused to issue a new license.

"It turned out that at the time of the fire, there were 12 people in the building who worked at the hotel and at the ski resort below, and a ski instructor, his wife and son were injured by the smoke," the publication says.

The family that runs the ski resort lived on the fifth floor of the building. It is noted that 12 hotel employees were promptly evacuated by rescuers. Subsequently, two of them died.

A fire at the Uludag ski resort in the Turkish city of Bursa was reported earlier that day. The mayor of the city, Mustafa Bozbeya, initially reported one death. He said that according to preliminary data, the hotel was not functioning at the time of the fire, as the court had previously ordered the eviction of the hotel. 110 employees of various rescue agencies took part in extinguishing the fire.
