How Muscovites help their participants and residents of new regions

Muscovites contribute daily to the support of military personnel and civilians in the border areas and even create their own volunteer associations. One of them is Oksana Chelmodeeva, director of the OkVeAn Center for Assistance and Development, who regularly provides assistance to participants in a special military operation. This was announced on Thursday, March 27, according to the official website of the Mayor of Moscow.
Since March 2022, the Chelmodeeva Center has organized over 60 shipments of humanitarian aid to fighters participating in the SVO, residents of new Russian regions, as well as hospitals, orphanages and other institutions.
In 2020, more than 80 volunteers of the center joined the "We are Together" mutual aid campaign, helping to deliver food and medicine to Muscovites who were in self-isolation.
After the start of the SVR, the center's team began to provide humanitarian support within the framework of the Moscow Helps project. The volunteers took part in the "Let's get the child ready for School" campaign, thanks to which children from new territories received school supplies.
In total, since March 2022, the center has transferred more than 500 tons of patronage cargo, including special technical equipment, to new territories. In Moscow, more than 2.5 thousand displaced families received assistance, many of which later became part of the volunteer headquarters.
Earlier, on March 7, the mayor's office told about how farmers participating in Moscow fairs regularly help their fighters and residents of the border territories by sending them their products. Thus, it was noted that thanks to the participant of the interregional fair, canned deer and wild boar meat has already been delivered to the fighters — nutritious and nutritious products convenient for field conditions.
