The evacuation of AN AN-12 cargo plane after an emergency landing has been completed at Novy Urengoy Airport. This was announced on March 27 by the airport's press service.

"At Novy Urengoy airport by 07:00 local time (05:00 Moscow time. The evacuation of the AN-12 cargo plane, which rolled off the runway the day before, has been completed. The airport is preparing to receive and release aircraft and begins servicing passenger flights," the air harbor said in a Telegram channel message.

Later, a representative of the Federal Air Transport Agency, Artyom Korenyako, announced that Novy Urengoy Airport had opened in Yamal.

"Novy Urengoy Airport in Yamal opened for aircraft reception and release today at 06:00 Moscow time," he wrote on his Telegram channel.

According to him, two aircraft went to the alternate airfields in Nadym and Salekhard during the closure of the airport. At the same time, another plane that took off from Ufa to Novy Urengoy returned to the capital of Bashkortostan.

An An-12 cargo plane en route from Sabetta made a hard landing at Novy Urengoy Airport on March 26. On landing, he tipped over on his left side. There were eight crew members on board, all alive. No fuel spillage has been recorded. The Transport Prosecutor's Office has launched an investigation into the incident. It was later clarified that one victim was hospitalized.
