Russian Ambassador to Washington Alexander Darchiev said on March 27 that he plans to facilitate visa procedures for Russians in the United States.

"Simplification of visa procedures for employees of our diplomatic missions and ordinary citizens, simplification of the travel regime in the host country for diplomats in the framework of their professional activities. <...> I mean to deal with all this in a substantive manner," he said in an interview with reporters after arriving in Washington.

Darchiev added that he plans to resume flights between the two countries, as well as return six properties confiscated by Washington to Moscow. According to him, these are the most "difficult questions."

The New York Times reported on March 14 that American leader Donald Trump is going to impose new restrictions on entry to the country for citizens of 43 countries, including Russia. According to the newspaper, wealthy Russians who do not travel on immigration or tourist visas can enter the United States.
