Trump allowed easing of duties on goods from China in case of TikTok deal

The United States does not rule out the possibility of reducing duties on goods from China in the event of a successful TikTok deal. This was announced on Wednesday, March 26, by US President Donald Trump, answering questions from reporters at the White House.
"As for TikTok, China will have to play a role in this, perhaps in the form of approving [the deal], and I think they will do that. Perhaps I will give them a small tariff reduction or something like that to achieve this," the American leader said.
He added that there are many options for acquiring TikTok and expressed confidence that the most profitable one for the United States will be chosen.
On January 19, Trump posted a call on Truth Social to make the app available and said he would issue a freeze decree to enforce the TikTok ban law on his inauguration day. The politician clarified that the decree may include the sale of 50% of the company to a new owner.
Later, on January 21, Trump signed a decree postponing the blocking of the TikTok social network in the country for 75 days. It was clarified that postponing the blocking would allow the new administration to determine the "appropriate course of action" regarding the social network.
On April 24, 2024, the then-President of the United States, Joe Biden, signed a law banning the social network. Senators in Congress then approved this measure by an overwhelming majority of votes, because they believed that the Chinese government could secretly monitor US citizens through this application.
