The United States will impose 25 percent duties on all cars and trucks manufactured outside the country. This was announced on March 26 by US President Donald Trump.

"We will actually charge a duty of 25%. But if you assemble cars in the United States, there will be no duties," he told reporters at the White House.

Trump clarified that duties will be levied only if cars are assembled outside the United States. According to him, these measures will come into force on April 2 and will be added to the existing ones. The White House estimates that approximately $100 billion in annual duties will be collected.

On March 24, Trump announced that from April 2, the United States would also impose duties of 25% on countries that purchase oil and gas from Venezuela. One of the reasons for the tariffs is the targeted sending of thousands of criminals from Venezuela to the United States, the American leader said.
