Moscow residents will be able to see a partial solar eclipse on March 29. This was announced on Wednesday, March 26, by Professor of the Institute of Space Research of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Doctor of Physico-Mathematical Sciences Sergey Bogachev.

In an interview with the Moscow city news agency, he noted that the maximum eclipse will occur around 14:50-15:10 Moscow time.

Bogachev clarified that two eclipses are expected this year: on March 29 and September 21. Both of them will be partial, the Sun will only "turn" into a month, its size will already depend on the region. In Russia, it will be possible to observe it in the European part of the country.

"In Moscow, the moon will cover less than 10% of the solar disk, and in St. Petersburg - about 20%," Bogachev explained.

The most noticeable eclipse will be in the north of Russia. The professor added that on September 21, residents of the capital will not be able to see such a phenomenon, the website notes. kp.ru .

A total solar eclipse took place on April 8, 2024. For some of the inhabitants of the Earth, the Moon completely blocked the Sun and cast a shadow on the surface of the planet, which was 198 km wide, IA Regnum reminds.
