- The Ombudsman of Ukraine recognized systematic violations of human rights in military enlistment offices

Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for Human Rights Dmitry Lubinets on Wednesday, March 26, highlighted the main violations committed by employees of territorial recruitment centers (TCCs, an analogue of the military enlistment office in Ukraine). He stated this on March 26 in his Telegram channel.
"Physical violence and rare cases of beatings of citizens. There are situations when groups of people are forcibly detained on the streets, in shopping malls, near the subway, using brute physical force," Lubinets said in a message on his Telegram channel.
Also, according to him, employees of the shopping mall resort to beating people on the roads, denying access to legal protection, hiding information about detained citizens, forcing them to sign documents and unlawful detentions.
The Ombudsman stated that he was ready to make a corresponding report to the parliament. However, he has not yet received an invitation to parliament.
Earlier, on March 21, Lubinets reported that employees of the shopping mall began to violate human rights more often during mobilization. According to him, there are especially many complaints from the Kharkiv region — more than 40 in 2.5 months.
On the same day, a video appeared with a captured militant of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) Dmitry Merchenko. He said that he had been conscripted despite having a traumatic brain injury and a medical certificate banning him from military service.
