The psychologist explained the new term breadcrumbling

Psychologist Maya Golubeva explained the essence of breadcrumbling, a new term in the field of online dating.
In conversation with the agency RuNews24.ru On Wednesday, March 26, the expert noted that the word itself translates from English as "bread crumbs", this is one of the unhealthy patterns of behavior in a relationship when one person shows only minor interest in another. That is, he gives only "crumbs" of his attention, supporting his partner only the illusion of a relationship, without intending to make them serious.
Golubeva attributed spontaneous messages and rare calls to the main features of this model, which never turn into full-fledged communication. It is limited only to likes, comments on social networks and short messages.
In such a relationship, a person avoids discussing the topic of a shared future and does not clearly define the status of the relationship. The reason for this behavior is self-doubt, as it allows you to maintain self-esteem through the attention of other people.
According to the psychologist, the realization that this pattern of behavior is unhealthy will help to get out of such a relationship. As Golubeva emphasized, one should immediately understand that one should not settle for less, since any person deserves a partner who will appreciate and respect him.
On March 13, it was reported that, according to analysts, contrary to popular belief, young people are not the main audience of dating sites. The majority (34%) of all users are Generation X — people aged 35-44 years.
