- The Russian mission to the United Nations pointed to Kiev's desire to disrupt any peace agreements.
Kiev is trying to disrupt any peace agreements by attacking the energy infrastructure of the Russian Federation, clearly showing its inability to negotiate. This was announced on March 26 by Dmitry Polyansky, First Deputy Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the United Nations.
"Kiev, having verbally agreed to an energy truce, continues to plan and carry out attacks on Russia's energy infrastructure, thus trying to deceive both us and the United States. It is absolutely obvious that by such actions he seeks to disrupt any peace agreements, clearly demonstrating his inability to negotiate," he drew attention at a meeting of the UN Security Council on Ukraine in New York.
Polyansky added that thanks to the efforts of Moscow and Washington, there was a real chance to find a diplomatic solution to the conflict and tens, if not hundreds of thousands, of lives of Ukrainian citizens were saved.
"There remains, of course, the military scenario. And we are also ready to implement it. But we prefer peace and diplomacy," the first deputy permanent representative added.
Following the talks in Riyadh, the Russian Federation and the United States agreed to develop measures to implement agreements banning attacks on energy facilities in Russia and Ukraine for a period of 30 days from March 18, with the possibility of extending and withdrawing from this initiative in case of non-compliance by one of the parties.
On March 25, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov pointed out the incompetence of the Kiev regime after the March 21 attack on the Sudzha gas measuring station in the Kursk region. He called the attack the reason why it is currently impossible to trust the Ukrainian side.
