Yakovlev Aircraft Manufacturing Company (part of the United Aircraft Corporation Rostec) has received approval from the Federal Air Transport Agency for the serial production of MC-21 aircraft. This was reported on March 26 in the Telegram channel of the department.

As specified in the message, the Rosaviation Commission conducted an on-site inspection of the Irkutsk Aviation Plant (IAZ) for compliance with Yakovlev's quality assurance and safety management systems.

"As a result, Yakovlev received a new, expanded certificate of approval from the production organization No. FAVT-I-11, which was signed by Andrey Dobryakov, Deputy Head of the Federal Air Transport Agency in charge of aircraft certification. In the "List of permitted works" section, in addition to the short-haul Superjet 100, the medium—haul MC-21 aircraft is now indicated," the publication clarified.

The list includes some accessories: a multifunctional indicator, an integrated computing system and an on-board firewall.

On March 17, Anton Alikhanov, the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, announced plans to make the first certification flight of a fully import-substituted MC-21 aircraft with a Russian PD—14 engine in June-July of this year.
