A fire season has started in the Lipetsk region, which will last until autumn rains or snowfall. This is reported by the regional Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia.

"By Decree of the Government of the Lipetsk Region No. 152 dated March 25, 2025, a fire season has been declared in the Lipetsk Region from March 26, which will last until the establishment of stable rainy autumn weather or the formation of snow cover," the message says.

According to GOROD48, the decision was made due to the dry weather in the region, as well as an increase in the number of fires of dry grass. Over the past day alone, firefighters have gone out 20 times to extinguish such fires, the total area of which exceeded 8 hectares.

Earlier in March, the start of the fire season was announced in the Krasnoyarsk Territory and the Moscow region. This year it happened earlier than usual due to the abnormally warm winter and low rainfall.
