GAZ has switched Gazelle cars to a reinforced gearbox
Gazelle gasoline and gasoline all-metal cars received a gearbox with an increased resource. Since March, such a unit has been installed on vans, combos and minibuses of the Next generation, according to a statement from Modern Transport Technologies (CTT), which was received by Izvestia on March 26.
Gorky Automobile Plant has two types of 5-speed transmissions of its own production for the Gazelle and Sobol families. The first of them is designed for engines with a torque of up to 250 Nm (until now, it has been installed on Business generation cars, as well as Gazelles Next), and the second, which has a higher durability, is up to 330 Nm. It was mainly used on diesel versions of the Gazelle Next.
Now the automobile plant has managed to expand its production capacity for boxes withstanding thrust up to 330 Nm by modernizing the machine park. Their phased introduction has begun on the entire line of gasoline and gas-gasoline vehicles, which have so far used a 250 Nm gearbox. The introduction of a reinforced gearbox has significantly increased the transmission life of these vehicles and increased the level of unification within the family, the company noted.
On March 20, production of the new Valdai 18 bonnetless truck started in Nizhny Novgorod. It is designed for short- and medium-haul transportation, public utilities, and solving various economic and business tasks in an urban environment.
