The State Duma warned of a response to attacks on Russian journalists


The attacks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) on Russian journalists in the area of the special military operation (SVO) will not go unanswered. Alexey Chepa, first deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs, said this on Wednesday, March 26, in response to attacks on film crews.
"All those who commit these terrorist acts targeting journalists will be punished as they deserve. It is known who is organizing this, who is behind it. I am sure that we will ensure that the world community reacts to this," Chepa said in an interview with Lenta.Ru .
On this day, it became known about the death of Anna Prokofieva, a military correspondent for Channel One, while working in the Belgorod region, and Dmitry Volkov, a cameraman, was also injured. He will be transported to Moscow, reports 360.ru .
The car with the channel's film crew was blown up by a Ukrainian mine, RT reports. The Investigative Committee of Russia has opened a criminal case on the terrorist attack. The circumstances of the incident are being established to determine the persons involved in the crime, the department added.
On March 24, Izvestia correspondent Alexander Fedorchak was killed in the special operation zone. He worked in the Luhansk People's Republic (LNR) and the Kharkiv region. Fedorchak's latest report on the situation in the Kupyansk area aired on March 23. A memorial was erected in the Izvestia News Center building as a sign of mourning for the deceased correspondent.
At the same time, on March 24, Andrey Panov, a cameraman for the Zvezda TV channel, and Alexander Sirkeli, the driver of the film crew, died in the special operation zone. They worked on the set together with Fedorchak. The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation has opened a criminal case into the deaths of journalists.
The BRICS Association of Journalists has appealed to UNESCO in connection with the murders of Russian correspondents while they were performing their professional duties, NSN reports.
