Channel One cameraman Dmitry Volkov is being evacuated to Moscow for medical treatment. This was announced on March 26 by Assistant Minister of Health of Russia Alexey Kuznetsov.
"Channel One cameraman Dmitry Volkov will be evacuated to Moscow for medical treatment today. He suffered injuries and burns, and his condition is assessed as serious," RIA Novosti quoted Kuznetsov as saying.
Doctors in the Kursk region are providing all the necessary medical care, and Volkov's condition has been stabilized, Kuznetsov said. The assistance is coordinated by the Federal Center for Disaster Medicine of the Russian Ministry of Health, the Assistant Minister of Health added.
Earlier on March 26, it became known that Anna Prokofieva, a military correspondent for Channel One, was killed while working in the Belgorod region, and cameraman Dmitry Volkov was also injured. It is indicated that the car with the channel's film crew was blown up by a Ukrainian mine.
The Investigative Committee of Russia has opened a criminal case on the terrorist attack. At the moment, the circumstances of the incident are being established to determine those involved in the crime, the department added.
