Mishustin presented a plan to upgrade public transport in the Russian Federation

By 2030, within the framework of the new national project "Infrastructure for Life", it is planned to upgrade 32 thousand units of public transport rolling stock, mainly buses. This was stated on March 26 by Mikhail Mishustin, Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation, during the presentation of the annual report on the work of the executive branch in the State Duma.
"It is planned to upgrade 85% of the public transport fleet so that its service life is no older than the standard one - this is in settlements where more than 50 thousand people live," Mishustin said.
The plan for the development of public transport also includes support for infrastructure projects in the regions. The government also supports the extension of the urban electric transport development program, the details will be clarified when considering the budget for 2026-2028, the prime minister said.
In total, from 2020 to 2024, the regions received 16.3 thousand units of new public transport. Of these, 8 thousand were allocated last year under a comprehensive program for the modernization of such transport.
Earlier in the day, Mikhail Mishustin reported that by the end of 2024, about 25 thousand km of roads were built and repaired in Russia, from the largest multi—level interchanges to driveways in neighborhoods and courtyards. By the end of 2024, more than half of regional roads and more than 85% of roads in large cities with suburbs met modern requirements.
