Scientists have discovered the largest preserved dinosaur claw in the Gobi Desert in Mongolia. This was reported on March 26 by CNN.

Scientists suggest that the dinosaur looked like a "bizarre mix" of a sloth and a giraffe. According to the researchers, this is the largest claw of its kind found completely preserved. Presumably, the animal was about three meters tall and weighed about 260 kg. The dinosaur used its curved claws to reach tree branches. He could also use them as weapons, despite the fact that he was not a predator.

It is noted that the dinosaur was given the scientific name Duonychus tsogtbaatari, in honor of the Mongolian paleontologist Khishigzhav Tsogtbaatar. The genus name Duonychus means "two claws" in Greek.

"In addition to the two claws, paleontologists have also discovered fossilized parts of the spine, tail, hips, arms and legs of the prehistoric creature," the TV channel writes.

Scientists also suggest that this type of dinosaur was covered with feathers, which added to its "strange appearance."
