Mishustin reported an increase in the volume of drug production in Russia

Two thirds of the medicines sold in Russia are domestic. This was announced on March 26 by the Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin.

"The share of domestic medicines has already reached more than 64% <...>. That is, every two of the three packages that are purchased today are Russian," he said, answering questions from State Duma deputies.

In addition, Mishustin drew attention to the positive dynamics in the medical device market. In 2023, production amounted to 612 billion rubles, and in 2024 it increased by 21.5%, reaching about 800 billion rubles.

On March 10, the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) told Izvestia that Russia plans to launch the production of domestic hepatitis C drugs if Russian manufacturers are granted a compulsory license. It is noted that this will reduce the cost of treating the disease, as well as increase the availability and expand the choice of such drugs for citizens.
