Megafon plans to launch a 2G/4G network on the section of the M-12 highway from Kazan to Yekaterinburg, said Alexey Titov, the company's technical director. "We have changed our approach to building networks along newly built roads: we connect them simultaneously with the commissioning of new sections," he said.

Earlier, Megafon provided full 4G network coverage of the M-11 highway from Moscow to St. Petersburg and the M-12 from Moscow to Kazan. More than 200 base stations have been put into operation on these highways, as well as on the M-4. "The work carried out allows travelers to use popular navigation, booking and messenger services on the road, as well as watch videos and listen to music in the same quality as in the city," Megafon said. In the near future, the operator plans to launch a 2G/4G network from Kazan to Yekaterinburg.

Ensuring continuity of access to digital services along federal highways is one of the company's strategic goals. Thus, according to Titov, "work on improving the telecom infrastructure plays an important role for the development of an intelligent transport system in the country and regulating traffic flows in the future."
