Avalanche danger was declared in eight districts of the Sakhalin region

Avalanches are forecast in eight districts of the Sakhalin region. Unfavorable conditions are expected on March 27 and 28.

An emergency warning has been sent to the administrations of Smirnykhovsky, Uglegorsky, Tomarinsky, Nevelsky, Kholmsky, Makarovsky, Dolinsky districts, as well as Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk. This is reported by SakhalinMedia news agency.

Forces and facilities are prepared to respond to possible emergencies.

On March 24, in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, an avalanche hit a road in the city center. There were no people or cars in the snowfall area. Traffic on the site was temporarily closed.
