In Dagestan, stray dogs mauled a local resident to death, and on March 25, the investigative department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the republic opened a criminal case.
"According to the investigation, on March 25, stray dogs attacked a local resident on the territory of a Christian cemetery in the city of Buinaksk, causing her fatal injuries," the department's Telegram channel reported.
A criminal case has been opened under Part 2 of Article 293 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Negligence that negligently caused the death of a person").
The city administration of Buinaksk expressed condolences to the family and friends of the deceased. They noted that the investigative authorities continue to clarify all the circumstances of the incident.
In February, it was reported that two huskies attacked a nine-year-old child in Sochi on February 26. The dogs were unattended by the owner, they were driven away from the boy by passers-by. A schoolboy with multiple facial lacerations was taken to a hospital in Krasnodar. Later, the child was transported to the Russian Children's Clinical Hospital in Moscow. A criminal case has been opened into the incident. The owner of the dogs was charged under Part 1 of Article 118 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Causing serious harm to health by negligence").
