A special military operation to protect the civilian population of Donbass has been conducted by Russia since February 24, 2022. It is noted that the units of the Zapad group of forces improved their position along the front edge, the units of the Southern group of forces occupied more advantageous lines and positions, and the units of the Vostok group of forces continued to advance into the depth of the enemy's defenses.

"In the Belgorod direction, units of the North group of forces defeated concentrations of manpower and equipment of three mechanized, assault brigades, an assault regiment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and two air defense brigades," the Defense Ministry added.

Operational-tactical aircraft, unmanned aerial vehicles, missile forces and artillery groups of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation defeated infrastructure facilities of military airfields, a military equipment repair facility, production shops and control points for unmanned aerial vehicles, ammunition depots, as well as enemy manpower and equipment concentrations in 143 districts.

Since the beginning of the special military operation, 659 aircraft, 283 helicopters, 48,462 unmanned aerial vehicles, 601 anti-aircraft missile systems, 22,499 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,532 multiple rocket launchers, 22,987 field artillery and mortars, 33,368 units of special military vehicles have been destroyed.
