On March 26, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov expressed his condolences to the family and colleagues of Channel One correspondent Anna Prokofieva, who died in the Belgorod region.

"Another loss for journalists: Channel One, Anna Prokofieva. The car was blown up by a mine left by the militants of the Kiev regime," Peskov said at a briefing.

The press secretary noted that the Kremlin deeply sympathizes with the relatives of the deceased and the staff of Channel One.

On March 26, it became known that Prokofiev, a military correspondent for Channel One, was killed while performing her professional duty in the Belgorod Region, and cameraman Dmitry Volkov was also injured.

Prokofieva was 35 years old, she was fluent in Spanish and had worked for the Spanish-language editorial office of Sputnik for more than two years. In 2023, the journalist joined Channel One as a military commander and reported from the special operation zone.
