There have been 206 road accidents in Russia over the past 24 hours.

Over the past day, 206 road accidents have occurred on Russian roads, in which 10 people were killed and 240 injured. Six of the dead were passengers and drivers of vehicles. This was reported to Izvestia on March 26 by the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Russian Interior Ministry.
On Tuesday, 16 accidents involving buses were recorded, in which there were no fatalities, but 30 road users, including one child, needed medical help. The reason for 11 bus accidents was the violation of traffic rules by drivers of other vehicles.
As a result of 72 accidents, 31 of which occurred at pedestrian crossings and 41 outside their area of operation, four pedestrians were killed, and 68 more were injured in various degrees of severity. Among the injured were 13 child pedestrians, four of whom were injured at pedestrian crossings.
Over the past day, 23 accidents involving minors have been registered on Russian roads, as a result of which 23 young road users, including six child passengers, were injured. One child, a pedestrian, was killed. For example, in Novosibirsk, a driver of a Gazelle minibus carrying four passengers ran over a seven-year-old schoolboy, accompanied by his mother, who was running across a zebra crossing at a controlled pedestrian crossing at a forbidding (yellow) traffic light. As a result of the accident, the boy died.
The State Traffic Inspectorate urged motorists to follow the rules of the road on the roads of towns and cities. Special care should be taken when approaching pedestrian crossings, slowing down in front of them until they come to a complete stop in order to allow pedestrians crossing the roadway.
"Remember that the behavior of children on the road is often unpredictable, so drivers should always be extremely collected when passing intersections and pedestrian crossings in order to have time to adequately respond to a possible sudden change in the traffic situation at any moment. In addition, never rush to resume traffic, even if the traffic light allows you to do so, until you are sure that the crossing is completely free of pedestrians," Police Colonel Sergei Hrantskevich, head of the Department for road Safety Promotion and Prevention of child traffic injuries at the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, told Izvestia.
On March 24, it was reported that starting from September 1, Kyrgyzstan will introduce a procedure for checking the knowledge of traffic rules for drivers who have violated the rules right at the stop. If the violator is unable to answer questions related to traffic regulations, his driver's license will be temporarily withdrawn.
