Sobyanin named the main theme of the cultural events of 2025 in Moscow

The main theme of Moscow's city festivals and cultural program this year will be the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. This was announced by the mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin.

According to him, Poklonnaya Gora will traditionally be the central location. I will also hold various events in the districts of the capital, in parks, theaters, museums, libraries and other cultural institutions.

In his Telegram channel, the mayor, speaking about Moscow's cultural program this year, said that the Theater Boulevard festival would be held in the capital again in the summer. This event will be even bigger than in previous years: the number of venues and events will be increased.

The next Moscow Fashion Week will be held in autumn. "This March, 186 Russian and foreign brands participated in the event, as well as about 140 students of creative universities," the mayor said.

He also recalled the large-scale events of last year. So, in August, for the first time, the Moscow International Film Week was held, which was attended by representatives of almost fifty countries. And in December, the Moscow International Week of Creative Industries hosted representatives from Brazil, Egypt, India, China, Thailand, Turkey and other countries. Within the framework of this event, a number of export contracts were signed in the fields of cinema, animation, video games and interior design.

In total, Moscow's cultural institutions were visited 235 million times last year, Sobyanin said in another post. This year, the implementation of relevant urban cultural projects will continue, he promised.

In particular, as the mayor noted, with the Moscow — Cinema City project, the capital "strengthens the position of the leader of the domestic film industry and the center of world-class film production." Last year, about 120 projects were shot in the capital's film cluster, 2.5 times more than a year earlier, the mayor added.
