A court in the Kursk region has sentenced Andrei Bezruchkov, a soldier of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), who was found guilty of committing a terrorist act. This was announced on March 26 by the press service of the Investigative Committee of Russia.

"The investigation established that on September 4, 2024, Bezruchkov, being part of the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, illegally invaded the territory of the Russian Federation," the department's Telegram channel says.

According to the Investigative Committee, while in the Sudzhansky district of the Kursk region, in order to destabilize the activities of the authorities, Bezruchkov prevented the evacuation of civilians from the village of Malaya Loknya.

On September 16, 2024, he was detained by Russian military personnel.

The court sentenced Bezruchkov to 15 years in prison, of which he will spend 13 years in prison, and the rest of the time in a high—security penal colony.

On March 19, the Second Western District Military Court handed down sentences against five Ukrainian militants who committed crimes in the Kursk region. The defendants mined roads and areas, opened fire on the Russian military and civilians, preventing their evacuation.
