The EU criticized the belligerent rhetoric of Callas against Russia

There are many critics in Europe who do not support the bellicose rhetoric of the High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy of the European Union (EU) Kai Kallas against Russia. The Politico newspaper writes about this on March 26.

The media notes that the condemnations against Kallas began to be heard literally immediately after the former Prime Minister of Estonia assumed her new position. Because on the very first day she posted a post on the social network X (ex. Twitter) that the EU wants Ukraine to win.

A number of European officials did not like this statement very much, notes "Газета.Ru ".

In the following months, these concerns only intensified, in part because of Callas' hawkish stance, which put her at odds with Spain and Italy, who do not share her view of Russia as an immediate threat to the EU.

One of the officials, whose name was not indicated, noted that based on the words of the head of European diplomacy, it seems that Europe is at war with Russia, but this is not at all true.

On March 24, it was reported that Russian journalists were deprived of the right to ask a question at a press conference between Callas and Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar in Jerusalem. Nikita Kulyukhin, a journalist from Izvestia, was present at the briefing, but the moderator pretended not to notice him, preventing the Russian representative from asking a question. They also did not provide the words to the RT TV channel correspondent.

Also on March 20, Politico noted that the authority of the head of EU diplomacy had been dealt a blow due to her plan to provide Ukraine with €40 billion in aid. According to the publication, before submitting her plan and appealing to community members to allocate additional funds, Callas did not conduct the necessary consultations. Thus, she continues to act as the head of the government of one country, not realizing that she now has a different role, the source added.
