More than 600 cars confiscated by court order were handed over to the Ministry of Defense in 2024 and sent to the free zone. This was reported on March 25 on the website of the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation.

So, in 2024, in the cassation instance, according to the representations of prosecutors, illegal decisions on 408 cases regarding the non-use of confiscation were canceled, the department said. In 293 cases, there was talk about the non—use of confiscation of transport, in 115 cases - about the non-use of confiscation of the equivalent of bribes.

In Russia, an almost threefold increase in the number of people convicted with confiscation of property was recorded over the year, the Prosecutor General's Office estimated. The number of decisions on vehicles of citizens who repeatedly drove while intoxicated has more than doubled. The use of confiscation of property of corrupt officials by the court of first instance has also increased by a third.

"Thanks to this, in 2024, more than 600 confiscated vehicles were sent to the Russian Defense Ministry, including for the purposes of a special military operation," the ministry stressed.

On February 27, it was reported that the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant had upgraded cars based on feedback received from its participants. UAZ models have "closed" type bridges with additional sealing, reinforced crosspieces and cardan shafts, and additional leaf springs.
