- Zakharova called the murder of journalists in the LPR a "cleansing of the information space" by Kiev

The murder of Russian journalists in the Luhansk People's Republic (LPR) is part of Kiev's systematic and systematic efforts to clean up the information space. This was announced on March 26 by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova.
The diplomat noted that for the Kiev authorities, journalists have become a deliberate target and target, it is obvious to everyone that a real hunt has been announced for Russian correspondents.
"This is not just an attack that was necessary, let's say, like other attacks committed these days in connection with contacts and the negotiation process in Riyadh, this is a systematic systematic 'work' carried out by the Kiev regime to clean up the information space," Zakharova said on Sputnik radio.
She added that previous presidents of Ukraine, in order to combat objectionable information, resorted to censorship, media closure, and also "squeezed out the objectionable." However, after that, Kiev turned to violent methods and murders of journalists, which were not even investigated, as well as attacks on editorial offices. Under the current head of Ukraine, the killings of journalists are already being carried out directly under the auspices of the Kiev regime.
On March 24, it became known about the death of Izvestia correspondent Alexander Fedorchak in the SVR zone. He worked in the territory of the LPR and the Kharkiv region. Fedorchak's latest report on the situation in the Kupyansk area aired on March 23. A memorial was erected in the Izvestia News Center building as a sign of mourning for the deceased correspondent. On the same day, Andrey Panov, a cameraman for the Zvezda TV channel, and Alexander Sirkeli, the driver of the film crew, were also killed in the SVR zone. They worked on the same set with Fedorchak.
Ukrainian militants launched a targeted strike with two HIMARS missiles at a civilian vehicle carrying media representatives. Nikita Goldin, a correspondent for Zvezda, was also seriously injured as a result of the shelling.
On March 25, the Commission of the Presidential Council for the Development of Civil Society and Human Rights (HRC) of the Russian Federation called the attack on Russian journalists in its area not accidental. They noted that international journalistic organizations should remember the names of the murdered colleagues and honor their memory.
