An increase in the age of young people is advisable due to an increase in the average life expectancy. This was announced on March 26 by Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Deputy President of the Russian Academy of Education Gennady Onishchenko.

"It makes sense. There is nothing so intimidating or infringing on someone's rights," he said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

According to Onishchenko, this is natural, as the average life expectancy is increasing, so the age structure should also change. However, the academician stressed that in order to change the age of young people, it is necessary to justify the benefits of this for economics and science.

Onishchenko clarified that, according to the law, people between the ages of 14 and 35 are considered to be young people in Russia.

On March 22, the Ministry of Economic Development noted that the number of young entrepreneurs in Russia under the age of 25 amounted to more than 2.7 million people. According to the ministry, this is a record figure since 2019, which is the result of the popularization of business among young people and the support measures implemented within the framework of national projects.
