FSB officers stopped the illegal trafficking of gold in the Trans-Baikal Territory


Employees of the office of the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation for the Trans-Baikal Territory have stopped the illegal trafficking of gold in the region. This was announced on March 26 by the press service of the department.
It is specified that as a result of operational measures and investigative actions, a 48-year-old resident of Ulan-Ude was identified, who illegally mined precious metal in the Krasnochikoysky district in order to further sell it for personal enrichment. At the time of his arrest, nuggets of natural gold were found and seized from him, the value of which is estimated at more than 5 million rubles.
The investigation opened a criminal case under Part 4 of Article 191 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Illegal trafficking in precious metals"). At the moment, the necessary investigative actions are being carried out, the department said.
On December 28, 2024, the Russian Interior Ministry reported that two men robbed a jewelry store in Saransk of 10 million rubles and were detained by police in Moscow. 660 thousand rubles were seized from the attackers. A criminal case was initiated under paragraph "b" of Part 3 of Article 161 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Robbery on an especially large scale").
