The head of Gagauzia Hutsul was taken to the anti-corruption center of Moldova

The head of the Gagauz Autonomy, Evgenia Gutsul, was taken from Chisinau airport to the National Anti-Corruption Center (NAC) of Moldova. This was announced on March 26 by a representative of the press service of the head of Gagauzia.

"The Hutsul were brought to the National Security Council building through the entrance from the courtyard. The lawyers were with her," RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.

He noted that law enforcement agencies had deployed additional forces to the building. So, there are several heavily armed police cars there. Hutsul supporters also gathered outside the building, including deputies from the Victory bloc and representatives of other opposition parties.

The detention of Hutsul at the Chisinau airport without explanation became known on March 25. It was later clarified that the staff of the National Police of Moldova detained her for 72 hours. The Pobeda block reported that the head of Gagauzia was supposed to fly to Istanbul, where she had meetings scheduled. According to Yuri Kuznetsov, Deputy Head of External Relations of Gagauzia, Hutsul was stopped at border control and taken to a room for additional examination.
