An earthquake of magnitude 5.5 was recorded in Chile. This was announced on March 25 on the website of the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC).

It is specified that the seismic event occurred 97 km east of the city of Alto Ospisio, which is home to 105 thousand people. The earthquake was located at a depth of 100 km.

There was no information about casualties or damage.

On the same day, a magnitude 6.7 earthquake was recorded off the coast of New Zealand. The source was located at a depth of 21 km. The epicenter of the earthquake was 164 km southwest of the city of Riverton, which has a population of about 1.4 thousand people.
