General practitioner Nadezhda Chernyshova said that "smoker's cough" may indicate the presence of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).

"Many people consider this to be a harmless consequence of smoking. However, this is the first call to the development of a serious illness," Chernyshova warned.
