A member of the Bundestag from the AFD demanded the lifting of anti-Russian sanctions

Rainer Rotfuss, a member of the Bundestag from the Alternative for Germany (AfD) party, said that Europe uses restrictive measures to put pressure on other countries and does not comply with international law. He stated this on March 25 in his speech published on the website of the Stop Sanctions movement.
"Sanctions are often used to bring countries to their knees, solely for geopolitical reasons, and people suffer from this. We want international law to be respected here," the parliamentarian explained.
Separately, the MP noted that EU countries apply various types of restrictions. According to him, "the most powerful form of sanctions is the sanctioning of information flows."
Rotfuss added that Alternative for Germany is also a victim of restrictions. He explained that not only his party, but also other "out-of-the-box thinkers" representing other positions in Germany suffered from the restrictions in covid-19.
Arnaud Bausemer, a member of the European Parliament and a member of the Alternative for Germany party, spoke out against the new anti-Russian sanctions on March 22. He noted that the German economy is suffering because of them, and demanded that all restrictions imposed be lifted immediately.
Artyom Sokolov, a researcher at the Center for European Studies at the MGIMO Institute of International Studies, said that Germany would not be able to support an anti-Russian course in defiance of the United States. According to the political scientist, Germany does not have enough desire, strength and means for this.
