The former head of Serpukhov near Moscow was charged with accepting bribes.

In the Moscow region, the former head of Serpukhov was charged with accepting large and especially large bribes. This was announced on March 25 by the GSU of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the region.

Currently, the person involved has been detained and charged with committing these crimes.

It was established that in the period from January to December 2024, while serving as the head of the Serpukhov city district, the accused received bribes from two entrepreneurs in the amount of 500 thousand rubles and 9 million 389 thousand rubles for patronizing the activities of organizations with which municipal contracts were concluded. In the first case, the contract was related to the provision of snow removal services from the improvement facilities of the city of Serpukhov, in the second — to the ongoing repair work on the modernization of the city's street lighting lines.

Interrogations, searches, and confrontations were conducted in the criminal case. At the request of the investigation, the Tverskoy District Court of Moscow has chosen a preventive measure against the accused.
