China has identified the safest car


The Xiaomi SU7 electric sedan is recognized as the safest car in China. According to the results of the crash tests, it scored five out of five points, and its average score of 93.5% was the highest among the models tested according to the standards of 2024. This figure is 8.7% higher than the average result of other cars, CarNewsChina reported on March 25.
Crash tests using the C-NCAP technique were organized by the Chinese Center for Automotive Technology and Research (CATARC). Driver and passenger protection was rated at 94.31%, driver assistance systems — at 95.25%, and pedestrian safety — at 90.42% (13% above average).
Test vehicles were purchased anonymously from dealers, and the Xiaomi SU7 Max modification with all-wheel drive, a leader, and a full package of active safety systems participated in the tests. Such a car in China costs from 300 thousand yuan (3.5 million rubles in translation).
Xiaomi SU7 is a five—meter sedan with a three-meter wheelbase. In the top-end version of the Max, the car has a twin-engine power plant with a capacity of 664 hp, a battery with a capacity of 101 kWh allows you to travel up to 800 km on a single charge.
On March 10, it was reported that the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra electric super sedan was involved in an accident on a race track in China. The accident occurred just a few days after the start of shipments of the first Xiaomi SU7 Ultra cars to customers.
