- The State Duma commented on the idea of introducing a single social card for pensioners in Russia

The initiative to introduce a unified social card for pensioners in Russia, which will be valid in all regions of the country, may be redundant. Svetlana Bessarab, a member of the State Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans' Affairs, expressed this opinion on Tuesday, March 25.
Earlier, the head of the Fair Russia — For Truth party, Sergei Mironov, made a proposal to introduce a single social card for all pensioners in Russia, NSN reports.
He said that State Duma deputies from his faction will prepare a legislative initiative providing for the introduction of a single-sample social card that will operate throughout the country, rather than individual regions. 360.ru .
"It is important to understand that this is a certain software, investing significant funds in its maintenance and improvement. For Moscow, as a fairly well-off region, there is such an opportunity, and it is convenient. But if we say that the social card needs to be broadcast to all regions, then we must understand that many regions do not have the guarantees that Moscow has," Bessarab said in an interview with Lenta.Ru .
According to the MP, cards with the Mir payment system actually provide the social treasury and its work in all regions.
"As for other types of social guarantees, the region has the right to decide on its own how much costs and amenities can be balanced," she said.
On March 4, Svetlana Bessarab, a member of the State Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans' Affairs, said that after reaching the age of 80, the fixed part of the old-age pension payment doubles.
