The composition of the Organizing Committee of the sports forum "Russia – sports Power" has been approved

By Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation No. 607-r dated March 15, 2025, the new composition of the Organizing Committee for the preparation and holding of the International Sports Forum "Russia is a Sporting Power" was approved. The Organizing Committee is headed by Dmitry Chernyshenko, Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation. Alexey Dyumin, Assistant to the President of the Russian Federation, Mikhail Degtyarev, Minister of Sports of the Russian Federation, Anton Kobyakov, Adviser to the President of the Russian Federation, Executive Secretary of the Organizing Committee, became Deputy Chairmen of the Organizing Committee. The delegation also included Vyacheslav Fedorishchev, Governor of the Samara Region, Alexander Stuglev, Chairman of the Management Board and Director of the Roscongress Foundation, and representatives of relevant ministries and departments.

By order of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, the Russia – Sports Power Forum will be held in Samara in the fall of 2025. Dmitry Chernyshenko, Deputy Prime Minister of Russia, stressed the importance of the Forum and Samara as a venue for its holding. "As our President Vladimir Putin noted, the Russia – Sports Power forum is designed to strengthen international cooperation, ties, contacts, and provides an opportunity to exchange best practices in sports training, methods of scientific support for amateur and professional sports, and ideas for promoting a healthy lifestyle culture. The forum will be held in hospitable Samara, which will host about 3,000 delegates, including foreign representatives. More than a thousand volunteers will be involved in the organization of the event. This year's forum is designed to ensure a high–quality reboot of the entire industry, taking into account developments in global sports," said the Deputy Prime Minister.

Anton Kobyakov, Adviser to the President of the Russian Federation, Executive Secretary of the Organizing Committee for the Preparation and Holding of the International Sports Forum "Russia – a Sporting Power", outlined the main topics of the upcoming event. "The progress of the implementation of the State Program of the Russian Federation "Development of Physical Culture and Sports" will be discussed at the Forum. Special attention will be paid to topical issues of rehabilitation of the participants of the SVO through sports with the participation of the regions of our country. I am confident that the forum, which will be held this year in Samara, will become a new bright spot not only in the sports life of our country, but will also confidently enter the business schedule of all those interested in the development of sports in Russia," said Anton Kobyakov.

The Solidarity Samara Arena Stadium will become a key space for strategic sessions and round tables, as well as a venue for sports events and an interactive exhibition "Heroes of Sports" dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.

In turn, Mikhail Degtyarev, Minister of Sports of the Russian Federation and President of the Olympic Committee of the Russian Federation, said that an extensive sports and cultural program is planned within the framework of the Russia – a Sporting Power Forum. "On the territory of the stadium, where the main part of the Forum will be held, a pavilion with an area of 5.7 thousand square meters will be deployed for a large-scale exhibition of the latest sports technologies. All this space will be decorated in accordance with the new corporate identity of the forum, which will be updated for the first time in many years, will become more concise, but at the same time modern. In addition, a festival of street sports is planned within the framework of the Forum, including competitions in breaking, parkour, workout, skateboarding, BMX and streetball, as well as thematic areas dedicated to GTO, digital sports, car modeling and aeromodelling sports. We plan that the cultural program of the forum will attract thousands of viewers and promote a healthy lifestyle among young people," Mikhail Degtyarev emphasized.

The first meeting of the Organizing Committee for the preparation and holding of the Forum is expected in the near future. The event will take place in Samara in the fall of 2025.
