On March 25, the head of Crimea, Sergei Aksyonov, signed a decree posthumously awarding Izvestia war correspondent Alexander Fedorchak with the republic's state award, the Order of Loyalty to Duty.
He stressed that Fedorchak is awarded "for impeccable performance of official duties, dedication shown in the performance of official duties, courage and heroism shown in extreme situations involving a risk to life."
