The State Duma approved the involvement of children from the age of 14 to work on weekends during the holidays

At the plenary session, the State Duma (State Duma) adopted a bill in the second and third readings, according to which employers will have the right to employ children aged 14-18 on weekends during the holidays. The relevant document was published on the website of the State Duma on March 25.

Teenagers can work at the direction of the employment service or as part of student groups, which must be included in the federal or regional register of youth and children's associations with state support.

The law will enter into force on September 1, 2025.

"In summer, children have a day off every day. If they want to spend it profitably and earn extra money, they don't need to be hindered," Artem Metelev, chairman of the State Duma Committee on Youth Policy, is quoted as saying on the website of the United Russia faction.

Earlier, on March 18, the State Duma passed a bill on conducting an experiment in which schoolchildren from Moscow, St. Petersburg and the Lipetsk region will be required to take the basic state exam (OGE) only in Russian and mathematics.
