- The media learned about the plans of the Western military to discuss peacekeeping missions in Ukraine

In the coming days, the Western military will begin a detailed discussion of the peacekeeping mission in Ukraine. This was reported on March 25 by the Canadian CBC television channel, citing General Steve Boivin, responsible for foreign and domestic operations.
The article says that the idea of creating a peacekeeping force is causing skepticism at the international level amid negotiations on a cease-fire.
"Western military commanders are expected to begin detailed planning of a potential peacekeeping mission of the coalition of the willing in Ukraine this week," the Canadian general is quoted as saying.
At the same time, it will be difficult for Ottawa to contribute to such a mission, but it is possible if Canadian troops training Ukrainian soldiers are repurposed for military operations, Boivan suggested.
He also said that a preliminary meeting of senior military commanders from 28 countries was held in the UK last week, expressing their willingness to contribute to the forces that will be deployed in the event of a ceasefire.
The Times newspaper reported on March 16 that Ukraine's allies want to send over 10,000 peacekeepers to the country. Unnamed senior sources in the British government said that the country's Prime Minister, Keir Starmer, had enlisted the support of a significantly larger number of states willing to provide ground troops.
On March 20, it became known that the countries of the so-called coalition of the willing, which includes France and the United Kingdom, decided to abandon the idea of sending ground forces to Ukraine and now want to focus on ensuring air and maritime security for Kiev. On the same day, Macron announced a summit of the coalition of willing with the participation of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, which is scheduled for March 27.
