On March 25, a flower-laying ceremony was held in Luhansk in memory of the Russian journalists who died as a result of the artillery shelling of Kremennaya by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).

"Today, the journalistic community gathered to honor the memory of our colleagues who died for the truth. Izvestia and Zvezda have always worked on our territory and showed the real picture of what is happening," said Alexandra Veselova, Deputy Minister of Digital Development of the Luhansk People's Republic (LNR).

According to her, Ukrainian militants are purposefully hitting journalists and such criminal actions cannot be hushed up.

On March 24, it became known about the death of Izvestia correspondent Alexander Fedorchak. According to preliminary data, he died as a result of an artillery strike from the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The journalist worked in the territory of the LPR and the Kharkiv region.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova called Alexander Fedorchak's death in the area of a special operation to protect Donbass a new crime committed by the Ukrainian leadership against freedom of speech.
