The Commander of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was sentenced to life in prison for ordering a strike on Skadovsk.

Alexander Kelembet, commander of the rocket artillery brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), was sentenced in absentia to life in prison for ordering a missile attack on Skadovsk in the Kherson region in 2023. This was reported to Izvestia on March 25 by the press service of the Southern District Military Court.

On November 9, 2023, Kelembet ordered his subordinates to launch a missile attack on the building of the military investigation department in Skadovsk, Kherson region. As a result of the incident, 11 civilians were killed.

The convict is on the international wanted list.

Earlier, on March 24, the 2nd Western District Military Court sentenced two colonels of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to life imprisonment in absentia for terrorist attacks on Russian military airfields. It was established that four terrorist attacks had been carried out on their orders.
