Former US President Joe Biden made a colossal mistake by insisting on Ukraine's membership in NATO, thereby refusing to listen to Russia and creating threats to it, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said in an interview with Channel One on March 25.

"Biden made a colossal mistake and refused to listen to the Russian Federation, insisting that Ukraine would join NATO," the minister said.

Lavrov stressed that now the whole of Europe has been mobilized and, led by Germany, is seriously beginning to consider issues of remilitarization for "fabulous" money.

"The Biden administration let Europe off the hook and sent it to fight with the Russian Federation, they are deindustrializing, there are a lot of problems," the politician concluded.

Earlier, on March 24, Anna Evstigneeva, Deputy Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the United Nations (UN), said that the activities of UN peacekeepers needed to be rethought and improved. Now, according to her, the effectiveness of peacekeeping missions is insufficient due to "attempts to justify themselves" by countries.
