Israel is going to start new contacts with Russia on the issue of Iran's nuclear program. This was announced on March 25 by Acting Israeli Ambassador to Moscow Alexander Ben Zvi.

"It will be at the level of the Foreign Ministry, it will be at the level of other meetings. Because, as I said, this is an issue that interests us," the diplomat stressed in an interview with TASS.

He explained that Israel will seek to influence Iran with the help of Russia in order to prevent unfriendly actions against the Israeli state. Ben Zvi noted that the Iranian nuclear program is always on Israel's agenda.

Earlier, on March 10, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Russia would provide assistance for a peaceful settlement of the situation with the Iranian nuclear program.

Also on February 5, it became known that US President Donald Trump signed a memorandum on national security, which, according to him, exerts "maximum pressure" on Iran's nuclear program. He noted that Washington cannot allow Tehran to have nuclear weapons and create them.
