A municipal emergency regime was introduced in Makhachkala after a gas explosion in an apartment building. This was announced on March 25 by the regional authorities.
A gas explosion in a multi-storey building occurred this morning. The mayor's office said that the building where the incident occurred had not yet been put into operation, so residents should not have been there. According to Sergey Kasyanov, the chief housing inspector of the Republic of Dagestan, the gas equipment in the house did not meet the requirements and was not registered.
