The OSCE is ready to become a platform for negotiations on a new security architecture

The Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) is ready to become a platform for discussing a new security architecture and normalization of relations between Russia and the United States, Secretary General of the organization Feridun Sinirlioglu said at a press conference with Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto.

"Of course, efforts aimed at ending the <conflict> in Ukraine are important, but at the same time, normalization of relations between the United States and Russia is also important," Sinirlioglu was quoted as saying by TASS.

The Secretary General also noted that the OSCE has experience, knowledge and a very wide range of tools.

"If the parties agree to use them, we are ready to monitor the implementation of any agreement reached, as well as be a platform for future discussions aimed at creating a new security architecture," Sinirlioglu concluded.

Earlier, on March 16, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko said that Russia was skeptical about the involvement of the OSCE in the event of a peacekeeping mission in Ukraine.
